Breanna & Kyle | May 8, 2021

Hey Everyone! It’s been quite a year we’ve all had. Despite the chaos, our 2020 wedding season was amazing. Although it was difficult seeing our couples unable to have everyone special in their life attend their wedding, there was something beautiful about the weddings where the couples decided to go forward with a smaller ceremony. By far 2020 was the most difficult for us to get our work done with the constant quarantines and scrambling to find childcare. Before we knew it, our 2020 wedding season was over and we had no blog posts and almost zero posts to our socials. We’ll be posting some of the 2020 films later this year and they are AMAZING!!!

To start fresh though, here is our first film of 2021! This film was so fun to edit and quite the adventure to film. Breanna and Kyle are both Syrian, so their whole day was full of their cultural tradition. We’ve never attended a Syrian wedding before, and we were so moved by the whole experience. From the music and the spoken word, to the liturgy and the dancing, we laughed(and maybe cried a little bit) through the whole day.

My favorite shot from the film was the shot of Breanne and Kyle in the narrow hallway. It reminds me of some sort of ancient architecture from a movie. I also couldn’t get over the money constantly raining down during the dancing, pretty surreal. Oh, also the dude playing the drum in the ceremony was wild! He was so fun to watch. The drum was a constant and important element throughout the entire day and I loved it.

We shot portraits at the grand ballroom and library in the Sentinal Hotel in Portland, and the reception was at Ilani in Washington.
