This was a really special wedding for us to film. I’ve know Allison since I was 6, from church, school, and T-ball. She’s always had a bright personality and such a beautiful soul. Tiffany also got a chance to get to know Allison. While in nursing school, Tiff trained on her floor and they became friends. We were so so excited when she asked us to shoot her’s and Keaton’s wedding.
Their wedding took place on the weekend of the height of the fires in our area. Up ‘till the day before their wedding, Allison & Keaton didn’t know if the whole area would be evacuated or not. Unfortunately, their venue was at a place that would be unsafe for their guests(between Covid and Fire), so the tough decision had to be made to move their wedding to Allison’s childhood home the night before their wedding day. This means they had to replan their whole wedding in a matter of hours.
I think what stands out to me the most about this film is the Joy on Allison & Keatons faces. This is probably the toughest situation we will ever see in our careers as wedding cinematographers, yet I think their Joy and Love for each other is the main thing you can see in this film.
Although it sucked that it was so smokey out, it made for incredible portraits. I realize it’s kind of a once in a lifetime situation(hopefully) and can’t believe how cool it made the colors. It kinda gave the film a really soft feeling and I think it looks amazing. Since most of the guests couldn’t attend the wedding, many of them made a parade of cars to drive by the house after the ceremony, pretty cool. Also, Keatons Burgundy suit was timeless and would I definitely love to see more grooms rocking those. Enjoy!
Much Loves,
Chris
